The third week of #Writingwiththesoul is Conviction and the first rule of that is to own and be confident as a writer.
Saying “I am a writer” sounds easier than it is when you have spent way too much time in your own head believing your own inner critic or feeding into your own narrative of failure or inadequacy.
I write for a living. I have been emersed in writing since I was young – taking creative writing classes and dreaming of my own novel one day. I write daily in journals. I collect quotes. I lose my breath over passages in books and my heart races when exploring intricacies, nuances, and depth of a particular word used.
To me, words are magic. They have wings and give flight to ideas. They have power. They can comfort or shake up your very existence. They can create or destroy worlds.
I finally cross that threshold into the world I belong in, instead of watching it from behind the glass. I will give life to the most powerful words for any writer.
